Gone are the days when cosmetic treatments were embraced only by celebrities. There was a time when common people used to fear surgical cosmetic procedures due to many myths and misconceptions. Thanks to technological advancement and the constant efforts of medical professionals to make cosmetic and plastic treatments more accessible for common people, Moreover, with the help of the internet and leading social media platforms, people can now learn more about cosmetic and aesthetic treatments. They can understand the benefits, set realistic expectations, and gain the courage to opt for cosmetic procedures. Such a surge in demand is inspiring many to enrol in cosmetology courses for doctors and be a part of this growth.

Now, plenty of minimally invasive and non-invasive cosmetic and aesthetic treatments are available there. In order to improve their appearance or fix certain skin concerns, patients don’t always need to undergo a surgical procedure. This is another vital reason behind the sky-high demand for advanced cosmetic and aesthetic treatments. However, when it comes to getting such treatments, the majority of patients prefer to have them done by doctors only. It is true that doctors perform advanced cosmetic and plastic procedures with expertise, safety, and personalised care that a traditional day spa is unable to offer.

Reasons Why People Want Cosmetic Treatments from Doctors Only

Modern people understand that their choice of cosmetic surgeon will be one they live with for years. A successful procedure can enhance their appearance and make them more confident. On the other hand, getting treatments from inexperienced hands increases the chances of having poor results, which can lead to more treatments, additional expenses, time wastage, and heartache.

1. Expertise and Specialisation

Treatments like laser hair removal can be dangerous in inexperienced hands. And that’s why people prefer to get such treatments from doctors only. Modern people try to know whether their chosen doctor is qualified enough or not. Many prefer to get treatments done by a board-certified doctor. With general surgery training or other medical training, it is not possible to deliver excellent results. Doctors must have specialised training and certification when it comes to offering cosmetic treatments. So, if you want to tap into this field and achieve success, enrol in a special cosmetology course first. Once you get certified, you will have plenty of career options, and patients will trust your treatment.

2. Years of Practical Experience

Each area of cosmetic and aesthetic treatment requires different skills. Doctors with special training and years of experience know how to operate on a nose with critical concerns or how to improve aesthetic concerns without affecting functionality. Apart from this, specially trained doctors can easily determine the most suitable non-surgical treatments for their patients. When it comes to getting advanced cosmetic treatments, patients prefer to consult a surgeon who is board-certified in cosmetic surgery and has substantial experience in the procedure they’re considering.

3. Safety and Oversight

Doctors maintain a high level of safety and adhere to medical protocols while performing cosmetic procedures. They are bound to prioritise patients’ health, follow sterile techniques, and use state-of-the-art equipment. Apart from this, a doctor also provides regular follow-ups, medical supervision, etc. to minimise risks and ensure the success of the procedure.

4. Holistic Approach

In a traditional spa, you can get the treatment you want without knowing whether that treatment is suitable for your skin or health or not. However, a doctor never recommends any surgical or non-surgical cosmetic treatment without properly diagnosing the patient. In search of safe treatments with long-lasting results, the majority of people can only trust doctors. Board-certified cosmetic surgeons always follow a holistic approach that includes both aesthetic concerns and the overall well-being of the patient. Doctors analyse the patient’s medical history, current medications, health condition, goals, etc., and then recommend a suitable procedure. Such an approach is missing in traditional beauty spas, and that’s why more people prefer to get cosmetic treatments only from doctors.

5. Ethical Standards & Accountability

There are certain medical ethics and standards that minutely govern doctors’ practices so that they maintain transparency, integrity, and accountability. Doctors also prioritise patients’ interests and let them make informed decisions confidently. These ethical parameters help establish a trusting relationship between patients and doctors. Such a relationship of trust is crucial for patient satisfaction and achieving desired cosmetic outcomes.

Where Can You Get the Best Medical Cosmetology Courses in India?

The increase in demand for cosmetic treatments indicates that doctors can tap into this field and easily grow their careers. In order to pave the way for a career in the field of cosmetology, you must enrol in medical cosmetology courses in India. Plenty of institutes are there; however, choose an institute that offers both theoretical and hands-on experience. For example, at the International Institute of Cosmetic Surgery & Aesthetic Medicine (IICSAM), you can enrol in a hands-on certificate course in cosmetology, lasers, and aesthetic medicine. Here, you can learn everything about cosmetology, lasers, and aesthetic medicine and get hands-on training from leading surgeons. Doctors across the country come to this institute to get trained by Dr. Satya Saraswat and Dr. Preeti Saraswat and practice with state-of-the-art tools and technologies.

Dr. Satya Saraswat is a Gold Medalist Plastic and Cosmetic surgeon with more than 19 years of experience. He is a member of the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS) and the American Society of Plastic Surgery (ASPS). Dr. Preeti Saraswat is a member of the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine (AAAM). Both doctors are members of the Indian Association of Cosmetic Laser Surgeons, and together they have performed more than 13,000 plastic and cosmetic surgeries. Learning cosmetology from such knowledgeable persons can help you master the genre, and they can also guide you on how to accelerate your career after the completion of the course.

Conclusion

Enrolling in advanced cosmetology courses and getting certified can help you build a secure career. You can offer your patients tailored cosmetic treatments and ensure a high patient satisfaction rate. The cosmetic treatment market is vast and packed with endless opportunities. In order to be a part of this demand, you can start with cosmetology courses for doctors and master the required skills. To understand what you can learn via such a course, you can connect with IICSAM. Here, courses are designed specially so that doctors can join and learn while keeping their other practices going. With IICSAM, learning cosmetology and getting certified isn’t hectic for busy doctors who are already serving hundreds of patients regularly.

Cosmetic treatments and procedures have gained immense popularity among Indians as more people resort to non-invasive medical methods to improve their looks. As more individuals seek out cosmetic enhancements, the need for qualified professionals in this sector is also increasing. Therefore, these days, medical cosmetic courses are deemed crucial for individuals eager to succeed in this domain. Through this blog, we investigate the parameters of medical cosmetology courses in India, highlighting their potential, the expertise acquired, and their impact on shaping the constantly evolving landscape of aesthetics and beauty within the country.

What is medical cosmetology?

Medical cosmetology is a specialised branch of medicine that focuses on enhancing one’s appearance through non-surgical and minimally invasive procedures. Integrating medical knowledge with aesthetic techniques, it tackles various cosmetic issues such as revitalising the skin, diminishing signs of ageing, and enhancing overall facial features.

Scope of Medical Cosmetology Courses

When considering a career in cosmetology, individuals have access to a diverse array of courses that accommodate different interests and goals. Among these options, the certificate course in cosmetology stands out as a favourite choice. This particular programme encompasses multiple facets of skincare, laser hair removal techniques, and many more. Acquiring the necessary qualifications through this course enables students to either join the professional skin care field or establish independent ventures. The cosmetology course fees that you have to pay for this are also reasonable when you take into account the scope of the course, the advanced equipment on which you will be trained, and the in-house training you will get.

Students who want to pursue careers in aesthetic medicine are very interested in the certification programme in advanced aesthetic medicine that renowned organisations like the International Institute of Cosmetic Surgery and Aesthetic Medicine (IICSAM) offer. The appeal of their course lies in their practical approach, which seamlessly integrates theoretical knowledge with hands-on training.

What subjects will the Certificate Course in Cosmetology cover?

In this advanced skin care course, you’ll learn about cutaneous peels, microdermabrasion, and fillers. You will also learn about laser basics like lasers for hair reduction, cutaneous resurfacing (acne scars), pigmented skin lesions, and vascular skin lesions, among others.

Career Opportunities in Medical Cosmetology

Doctors can explore an exciting career in the dynamic field of medical cosmetology. As the popularity of cosmetic treatments escalates, an increased requirement for medical experts with a trained understanding of cosmetics and skin care arises. Cosmetology courses for doctors provide the necessary training to develop expertise in this niche area of medicine.

One of the popular career paths for doctors in medical cosmetology is becoming a cosmetic dermatologist. As a cosmetic dermatologist, one can perform various non-invasive and minimally invasive procedures like Botox injections, dermal fillers, laser treatments, and chemical peels to enhance skin appearance and treat common aesthetic concerns such as wrinkles, scars, and pigmentation issues.

Another promising career option in medical cosmetology is becoming a hair transplant surgeon. Hair loss is a common concern among both men and women, and hair transplant surgeries are sought after to restore natural-looking hair growth. Doctors with expertise in medical cosmetology can specialise in performing these surgical procedures, which involve harvesting hair follicles from donor areas and implanting them into areas experiencing thinning or baldness.

Growth Prospects and Trends in Medical Cosmetology

As society places greater value on outer beauty and as advanced technologies become more accessible, there is a growing preference for non-invasive cosmetic procedures among people. The present wave of enthusiasm has produced an exponential rise in the quest for trained experts.

One key trend that is reshaping the industry is the integration of technology and innovation in cosmetic treatments. Groundbreaking technologies like laser therapy, robotics-aided surgery, and 3D imaging have transformed numerous processes, rendering them less risky and more efficient. This development has facilitated the opening up of new frontiers in medical cosmetology R&D.

Conclusion

Medical cosmetology courses in India cater to the diverse interests of prospective professionals. As the desire for cosmetic interventions rises, medical cosmetology has emerged as an alluring job prospect. Dr. Satya Saraswat and Dr. Preeti Saraswat, two ABHRS diplomats, lead the International Institute of Cosmetic Surgery and Aesthetic Medicine (IICSAM). Dr. Satya Saraswat, a renowned Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeon with a Gold Medalist title, and Dr. Preeti Saraswat, an Associate Member of the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine (AAAM), have a combined experience of over 19 years and have achieved a remarkable record of 13,000 successful cosmetic surgeries.

The aesthetic industry is evolving rapidly. Medical cosmetic procedures are getting rid of their previously associated stigma in recent years. Non-invasive aesthetic treatments have transformed the industry by providing safe, painless, affordable, and practical solutions. Now, anyone interested in improving their appearance can easily get advanced treatments at any medical-grade cosmetic clinic. The increased demand for safe aesthetic treatments has opened up a new world of opportunity for medical professionals. Today, plenty of institutes are offering advanced medical cosmetology courses for doctors. If you too are interested in grabbing the opportunities in this field, don’t wait any longer to enrol in advanced medical cosmetology courses in India.

If you search online, you will find plenty of institutes offering advanced aesthetics and medical cosmetology courses. However, to master the skills and get a valid certification, always connect with an institute that is registered and affiliated. Along with choosing an institution, it is also important to know how you can further your career with cosmetology courses.

The Future of Non-Invasive Aesthetic & Cosmetic Procedures

The dramatic rise in people’s spending on cosmetic procedures has generated promising prospects for the aesthetic industry in the years ahead. According to research by McKinsey, the global aesthetic injectable market can rise by 12 to 14% a year for the next five years. Doctors from any field can enter this domain via medical cosmetology courses and transform the lives of many people. The medical cosmetology field is still an emerging medical trend. This is primarily driven by a rising number of patients who want to minimise the effects of normal ageing or improve their overall appearance. More patients are interested in the modern cosmetology landscape and opt for non-invasive or minimally invasive aesthetic procedures that have minimal downtime and mitigate risk factors.

Modern aesthetic medicine and cosmetic procedures not only aim at enhancing the physical appearance of patients but also ensure a high patient satisfaction rate. This field usually involves non-invasive or minimally invasive cosmetic procedures and spans facial aesthetics. The industry has been experiencing great demand for services like skin rejuvenation, injectables, hair removal, breast implants, and so on. Most importantly, with the help of the internet and social media, modern people are aware of the difference between safe and average procedures. They also want to get treatments from safe hands, and as a result, they are tending more towards medical cosmetology services instead of relying only on typical beauty parlour services. And that’s where the demand for medical cosmetologists increases.

The Emergence of Tweakments

The fear of invasive procedures that come with longer downtime and higher chances of side effects discouraged common people for a while from seeking cosmetic treatments. However, the introduction of tweakments has helped people get over the historical dominance of surgical procedures. (“Tweakments” is a kind of play on the words. Tweak+Treatments= Tweakments. Tweakments refer to primarily non-surgical and minimally invasive cosmetic treatments that can enhance a patient’s appearance in a very subtle way.) Due to rapid advancements in the medical field, the prevalence of non-invasive aesthetic and cosmetic procedures has started to grow at a jaw-dropping pace in recent years.

Treatments are minimally invasive and sometimes temporary treatments that deliver more natural-looking results with zero to a little downtime. One of the main reasons behind the growing popularity of minimally invasive cosmetic procedures is the changing view of the medical aesthetic industry among consumers.

Modern people or patients with aesthetic concerns look out for solutions that can treat their problem areas, bring more natural results, and maintain an economical price point. For example, people with unwanted body and facial hair issues now rely on laser hair removal and ditch traditional methods like waxing, threading, or shaving. According to a survey by the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS), nowadays, people are showing more interest in various cosmetic procedures like PRP, chemical peels and lasers.

Technological Developments

Advanced technologies are triggering transformation across various industries, and the medical cosmetology or aesthetic industry is no different. The introduction of advanced medical tools and devices has ensured more streamlined cosmetic procedures in this era.

For example, in procedures like hair transplants, the use of Choi implanter pens or trichoscopy analysis has made the procedure more accurate and efficient and ensured satisfying results. On the other hand, with the help of diode laser hair removal, it is now possible to treat all skin types, especially people with darker or tan skin. The advancement of technologies is a continuous process, and it will keep shaping the industry.

Awareness Among Common People

Awareness among common people is directly contributing to the future of non-invasive aesthetic or cosmetic procedures. When it comes to generating awareness regarding non-invasive cosmetic procedures, we can’t deny the contribution of the internet and social media platforms. Now, people can know nearly everything regarding a procedure with online research. They can know who is the best cosmetic surgeon in India or elsewhere or which clinic has the most positive patient reviews from the comfort of their home with the help of the internet.

Using the internet, modern people can collect the contact details of a reliable cosmetic clinic and book an appointment. This increased awareness among common people has created great professional opportunities for people interested in this field.

Laser hair removal has become an increasingly popular cosmetic procedure in recent years. The demand for laser hair removal is rising among both men and women. This growing demand also indicates the need for more qualified professionals. Doctors who want to grow their careers in cosmetology can pursue laser hair removal courses. However, in order to truly understand the procedure and its effectiveness, it is also important to explore its history and evolution. Uncovering the development of laser hair removal technology can help candidates better understand the science behind the procedure and the reasons for its efficacy. This knowledge can be beneficial for candidates interested in joining medical cosmetology courses, as it can provide a strong foundation for learning and mastering the techniques involved in the procedure.

Hair Removal Practices Throughout History

Throughout history, humans have engaged in various hair removal practices, ranging from plucking with shells and tweezers to using wax and razors. These hair removal practices have evolved over time and have been influenced by religious, cultural, and societal norms.

The Egyptians & Sugaring

We must agree that the Egyptians contributed to shaping the modern world with their countless precious innovations. One of their beauty innovations that humans still use is the sugaring hair removal method. There was a time when men with scruffy beards and women with body hair were accepted as uncivilised. As a result, the upper-class people of Egypt tried to keep their body hair to a minimum.

They prefer to use a range of methods for hair removal. For example, they preferred to use tweezers (made from pumice stones or seashells), flint or bronze razors, and body sugaring. The sugaring method consists of ripping the hair from the root with a wax made of water, sugar, and lemon juice.

The Persians & Threading

Threading, another hair removal practice, entered the genre 5000 years ago in Persia or the Middle East. The threading procedure involves tugging on the eyebrows with thread and then pulling. This hair removal procedure is still popular in beauty salons for eyebrow shaping. This hair removal procedure is also known as “khite”.

The Europeans & Walnut Oil

Queen Elizabeth I popularised the removal of eyebrows or shaping them too thin in 16th-century Europe in order to give the forehead a larger appearance. The most interesting fact is that it is only body hair that they used to remove, letting the rest of the body and facial hair grow.

After shaving or waxing the eyebrows, women used to apply certain substances on the forehead to prevent hair growth. They mainly used walnut oil and ammonia or vinegar-soaked bandages to prevent hair regrowth.

Modern Hair Removal

The first razor was crafted by Jean Jacques Perretin in 1760. In 1880, King Camp Gillette designed the modern razor for men and for women in 1915. Most of these hair removal practices are still in active use. However, most of them come with discomfort and side effects like redness, bumps, pigmentation, itching, and the risk of infections.

The Rise of Laser Hair Removal Technology

When it comes to laser hair removal technology, the discussion should start with the name of Theodore Maiman. He is known as the “father of the electro-optics industry”. Before Maiman’s invention of laser technology in 1960, the underpinnings of this technology had been theorised by Albert Einstein. Maser, a device that works on microwave amplification by stimulating emissions of radiation, had been in practice since 1953. Maiman worked on extending the microwave capabilities of this device to the optical range. He also crafted a device that creates a short wavelength of light.

In 1060, his success was published in Nature. The first laser is known as the ruby laser. It was slow and inefficient in comparison with today’s laser technology. It was able to minimise hair growth but resulted in bikini burns.

In 1964, the YAG laser was invented. It also got approval from the FDA for hair removal. It was effective in removing unwanted facial and body hair but couldn’t provide any permanent results. In the 70s, the alexandrite laser came into play. This version was safer compared to its predecessors. However, this version was also not able to show permanent or long-term results.

Laser in the Hands of Dr. Richard Rox Anderson & Dr. Melanie Grossman

The improvement in laser hair technology was stuck at an impasse for decades. Years later, Dr. Richard Rox Anderson and Dr. Melanie Grossman started their investigation into this procedure. They started testing laser technology on hairy dogs. In 1994, they released their first paper on laser hair removal in humans. They started working with a concentrated laser beam that can travel into the hair follicles. As the beam damages the follicles, they stop growing further. Later in 1997, this procedure was approved by the FDA.

Today & Tomorrow’s Laser Hair Removal Technology

Today, laser hair removal technology has become more sophisticated than ever. It can show satisfactory results for nearly all skin and hair types. Treating patients with tanned skin or darker skin was difficult before, but now it has been solved with the help of diode laser technology. In advanced medical cosmetology courses in India or elsewhere, you will learn how using shorter and more controlled laser pulse rates can cause less risk of damage to the skin and surrounding hair follicles. Advanced technologies also use cooling mechanisms paired with laser hair removal to ensure a comfortable experience for patients.

In order to achieve optimal results, many laser hair removal clinics combine both ND: YAG and Diode technologies. In recent years, we have seen the introduction of cooling systems to create a comfortable patient experience and a diode laser to treat dark-skinned patients. Today, a patient typically requires three or more sessions to get satisfactory results. It means each treatment session can remove around 15% or more of the hair in a specific area as it depends on how many hair follicles will be in the “anagen phase”. In the coming years, we hope to see improvements in laser hair removal technology that can destroy follicles that aren’t in the anagen phase.

Conclusion

The evolution of laser hair removal is a fascinating journey, starting from the discovery of the laser itself in the 1960s to the advanced technology used today. Understanding the history of laser hair removal and its growth over the years can help candidates who are planning to enrol in laser hair removal coursesget a deeper appreciation of the technology and its applications. With the continued growth of the laser hair removal industry, staying up-to-date with its history and achievements is critical for those seeking to succeed in this field. In order to know more about laser hair removal technology and procedures, join advanced medical cosmetology courses. At the International Institute of Cosmetic Surgery & Aesthetic Medicine (IICSAM), you can learn about popular cosmetic procedures, lasers, and aesthetic medicine.

A career in cosmetology is a rewarding experience as it allows individuals to use their creativity to create unique cosmetic solutions that make people feel good about themselves. If you are planning to enter the world of cosmetology, one of the most important decisions is choosing the right institute. While there are many factors to consider, evaluating the faculty should be one of the top priorities. After all, they will be guiding you throughout the course and helping you develop the skills you need to succeed in the industry. By evaluating the faculty members before enrolling in cosmetology courses, candidates can ensure they get the best possible education and set themselves up for success in their careers. This blog will discuss why evaluating the faculty is so important and provide some tips for doing it effectively.

Why Should You Evaluate the Faculty?

Evaluating the faculty is crucial because the experience and expertise of instructors are directly related to the quality of education and training that students receive. A knowledgeable and experienced instructor can provide valuable insights and teach techniques that can make a significant difference in the success of a student’s career.

A candidate should always check the qualifications and experience of the faculty to rest assured that he/she will learn the best things from one of the most efficient instructors in the industry. It’s sad to say that if the faculty is not certified by respectable boards and has no prior experience in teaching, candidates may not get the best help there. Cosmetology is an advanced domain, and to master it and achieve the required skills, one must learn the subjects under the supervision of an expert.

The demand for cosmetic, aesthetic medicine, and laser treatments is increasing at a rapid pace. The demand is creating more job opportunities in the field. The right training and certification can help individuals shape their careers and grow uninterruptedly. In the cosmetology industry, the faculty not only has an impact on the candidates’ learning experience but also influences their future career prospects. It is a highly competitive industry, and having an instructor who is well-connected and respected in the industry can help students get valuable networking opportunities. Additionally, instructors who have successful careers in the industry can help gain insights into what it takes to succeed and how to navigate the challenges of the industry.

Evaluating the faculty can make the difference between successful and unsuccessful training, impact a student’s learning experience, and get valuable networking opportunities for a future career in the cosmetology industry.

Factors You Should Consider When Evaluating the Faculty

When searching online, you will find that lots of institutes are offering cosmetology courses for doctors. However, choosing the right course is difficult. There are a few key factors that candidates can consider to choose the best courses, and evaluating the faculty is one of them.

1. Qualification & Certification

Before determining which medical cosmetology courses in India are best for you, you should check the qualifications and certifications of the faculty. It will help you trust the procedure and study better. Try to connect with institutes where you can learn from internationally certified cosmetology doctors. For example, at the International Institute of Cosmetic Surgery & Aesthetic Medicine (IICSAM), you can learn from Dr. Satya Saraswat and Dr. Preeti Saraswat. Dr. Satya Saraswat is a renowned Gold-medallist Plastic and Cosmetic surgeon and a member of the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS) and the American Society of Plastic Surgery (ASPS). Dr. Preeti Saraswat is an associate member of the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine (AAAM) and a full-life member of the Indian Association of Cosmetic Laser Surgeons.

2. Professional Experience

You know the proverb well: “Experience speaks volumes”! Candidates should learn cosmetology from someone who’s walked the walk and knows the industry inside and out. Dr. Satya Saraswat and Dr. Preeti Saraswat, together, have more than nineteen years of experience. They have successfully performed more than 13,000 cosmetic surgeries. They have enough experience and expertise to guide you in this industry.

3. Industry Reputation

It’s important to connect with the faculty members who have the inside scoop on the cosmetology industry. Dr. Satya Saraswat and Dr. Preeti Saraswat are not only internationally certified but also have a strong position in the industry. They take part in various national and international cosmetology events and share their knowledge and experience for the advancement of the field.

4. Student Testimonials

You should carefully listen to what past students have to say. Generally, leading institutes share the testimonials of their students to inform others. Apart from this, you can check Google local listing reviews and social media pages to get an understanding of the effectiveness of the courses and the expertise of the faculty members.

Conclusion

Evaluating the qualifications and experience of the faculty members before enrolling in cosmetology courses is crucial for a successful career in the industry. The quality of education, hands-on training, and career development opportunities designed by the faculty can greatly impact a student’s learning experience and future prospects. By researching the instructor’s qualifications and certifications, industry experience, and teaching style, willing cosmetology candidates can make informed decisions and choose the best course for their career advancement.

The demand for cosmetology, lasers, and aesthetic medicine is increasing rapidly. This is due to the fact that common people have started understanding the jaw-dropping benefits of cosmetology. The entire world, including India, is experiencing a massive surge in demand for these treatments. At such a time, anyone seeking a career in cosmetology has made a great decision. Pursuing a career in cosmetology can open up a new world of opportunities. However, there are a few key things that beginners must know before enrolling for cosmetology courses. This blog discusses the basics of cosmetology and the vital things to consider when selecting the right course for you. From the cosmetology course fees to the range of topics offered, it provides all the required information that you need to smooth out your cosmetology journey.

Treatments a Medical Cosmetologist Can Provide

Medical cosmetology is a wide sector and involves aesthetic medical treatments to improve the appearance of skin, hair, and nails. A certified medical cosmetologist can work in clinics, hospitals, and medical spas. After the completion of your cosmetology course, you will be able to provide the following services:

Chemical peels: This is a beauty treatment with a high demand. The procedure includes the use of a chemical solution to exfoliate and improve the texture and appearance of the skin.

Microdermabrasion: This is another great way to exfoliate the skin to reduce the appearance of fine lines, acne, age spots, and sunburns.

Laser hair removal: Permanent hair reduction has become the best choice for many people. No longer are they interested in frequent shaving, waxing, or threading. Laser hair removal procedures help destroy hair follicles, resulting in permanent hair reduction.

Botox & dermal fillers: Medical cosmetologists can administer Botox and dermal fillers to reduce the signs of ageing, like the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.

Photo facials: The medical cosmetologist will use intense pulsed light to target and destroy pigmented cells to reduce age spots, broken capillaries, sun damage, etc.

Acne treatment: After completing the medical cosmetology course, one can offer personalised treatment plans to reduce acne breakouts and prevent stubborn acne scarring.

Eligibility Criteria for Enrolling in a Cosmetology Course

The skincare and personal wellness industry has undergone a drastic change over the past few years. In 2022, the market size of the global beauty industry was estimated at USD 500 billion, and it offers millions of jobs every day, both directly and indirectly.

Hands-on Certificate Courses in Cosmetology and Aesthetic Medicine: What You Will Learn

As a beginner, before enrolling in any cosmetology or aesthetic medicine course, you must check what you will learn. It is also important to check whether the learning will have any impact on your career growth or not.

IICSAM’s hands-on certificate courses in cosmetology and aesthetic medicine are suitable for doctors from all fields. Every month, two seats remain open for admission. The course duration is five days.

Day 1: On the first day of the course, a candidate will get lectures, a live demo, and hands-on training on cutaneous peels, skin polishing, and fillers. The hands-on training will start on the very first day so that candidates can understand everything in their way and clear any confusion instantly.

Day 2: The second day of the course will cover two major fields: cosmetology and aesthetic medicine. You will learn laser basics and anti-aging and skin-tightening measures. The laser hair removal course will cover topics like laser hair removal, scar treatment, and lasers for vascular skin lesions.

The second section will go over HIFU, RF micro needling, and thermage. Each day, you will get live demos, lectures, and hands-on training.

Day 3: On the third day, you will also learn about active acne management, mesotherapy/PRP, acne scar treatment, wart removal by CO2 laser, the use of derma pens, and so on.

On days 4 & 5, you will learn more about cosmetology and aesthetic medicine. Only learning the subjects and gaining skills are not enough. After the certification, you need to start your career and grow it accordingly. When it comes to starting your clinic or working in any institute, it is important to have good communication skills as well as consultation skills. In the third and fourth days of the course, you will get guidance on how to establish your career in cosmetology. Most cosmetology courses do not cover these aspects. However, IICSAM has designed a quality course that will help your career in all possible ways.

Factors to Consider When Choosing the Best Institute for Cosmetology and Aesthetic Medicine Courses

Plenty of factors can impact the effectiveness of a course. However, when it comes to choosing the best institute for cosmetology and aesthetic medicine, you should not skip considering the following factors:

Accreditation: While choosing the best institute, you should check whether the institute is accredited by a reputable organization or not. For example, IICSAM’s faculties are affiliated with the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgeons (ABHRS), the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgeons (ISHRS), the American Society of Plastic Surgery (ASPS), and so many other leading institutes.

Curriculum: Research the institute’s curriculum to ensure it covers all the topics you want to learn and is helpful for your career growth. You should also check whether they are following the latest industry practices or not. We have already discussed in detail what you can learn if you join IICSAM’s cosmetology and aesthetic medicine courses.

Faculty: It is also important to check the qualifications and experience of the faculties who will teach you. At IICSAM, you will learn directly from Dr. Satya Saraswat and Dr. Preeti Saraswat. Both are certified by the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgeons (ABHRS).

Facilities: Along with checking the details of the faculties, you must also check the facilities of your shortlisted institute. They must have the latest equipment and other resources to provide hands-on training.

Cost: Cost is a vital factor to consider before enrolling in a cosmetology course. Cosmetology course fees depend on a lot of factors. But being one of the best cosmetology institutes, IICSAM always tries to reduce the course fees so that more people can access it and boost their careers. IICSAM charges only 75,000 INR plus GST.

After considering all these major factors, you will easily understand which institute is better for you. Choosing the right platform can bring more opportunities and give a boost to your career.

Conclusion

Enrolling in cosmetology courses is no doubt a great step toward making a career in the beauty industry. However, it is important for beginners to know what they are getting into before signing up. Cosmetology is a hands-on field, and requires a significant amount of time and effort to master. Additionally, it is highly important to do research on the institution to ensure you are getting the best education possible.

Laser skin resurfacing has become a popular treatment in cosmetic clinics around the world. If you’re looking for medical cosmetology courses in India, then find a course that covers all topics for the latest skin procedures. Laser treatments help in dealing with acne scars, hyperpigmentation, fine lines, and wrinkles. If you want to excel in the field of aesthetic medicine, then you need to learn more about various cosmetic laser procedures and enhance your skills in the area.

At the International Institute of Cosmetic Surgery & Aesthetic Medicine (IICSAM), a five-day long course is offered to eligible candidates with BDS, BAMS, BHMS, MBBS and above qualifications. Our cosmetology courses are specially planned to include all the advanced treatments including cutaneous peels, microdermabrasion, fillers, fractional lasers, and more.

Why Fractional Lasers are Popular?

Fractional lasers can be both ablative and non-ablative in nature. Laser beams are targeted to a particular fraction of the skin, hence, the name. Non-ablative treatments are less invasive and they inflict lesser damage on the skin.

In this type of procedure, the laser is used to eliminate the outer layer or the epidermis of the skin. This is the older and damaged part of your skin that has dead skin cells. The middle and lower layers of the skin get heated up during the process, which triggers the collagen production in your body.

A new layer of skin is formed which looks healthier, more radiant, youthful, and glowing. Fractional lasers are a common topic found in most cosmetology courses thanks to their popularity. It offers varied skincare solutions such as even skin tone, lightened scars and dark spots, firmer and tighter skin, and reduced wrinkles and fine lines.

Fractional CO2 Laser for Acne Scar Treatment

Acne scars are a common problem faced by many people. Hence, acne treatments form a significant part of the curriculum in most medical cosmetology courses in India. The affected part of the skin is targeted with laser microbeams to create tiny wounds. This triggers the body to produce more amounts of collagen and epithelium to ensure rapid healing of these tiny wounds on the face. Through this process, a new layer of skin forms with visibly lessened scar marks. As a result, this treatment effectively reduces acne scars and also gives healthier-looking radiant skin.

What Are the Benefits of Fractional CO2 Lasers?

1. Painless and quick procedure

Fractional CO2 laser treatments are non-ablative laser procedures. It is minimally invasive and does not cause too much trauma to the skin. Only dead skin cells from the outer layer of the skin are removed during the process. It is very precise and does not cause any harm to the surrounding skin tissues. It is a completely painless procedure. It gives instant results and the downtime period is only 3-5 days.

2. Destroys the acne-causing bacteria

During the fractional CO2 laser procedure, the middle and lower layers of the skin get mildly heated up. The laser beams penetrate the deeper layers of the skin and the high temperature destroys the acne-causing bacteria from underneath. Thus, the acne doesn’t come back in future.

3. Reduces scarring

The main aim of laser treatments on the skin is to trigger collagen production in our body. A new layer of skin replaces the older and damaged skin, which results in visibly lessened acne scars. It also removes fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, and scar marks. The new skin looks younger, firmer, and brighter.

Conclusion

The field of cosmetology deals with a variety of skin problems. From laser resurfacing to dermal fillers, every treatment option has a relevance on its own. When you are looking for cosmetology courses, make sure you find one with a comprehensive curriculum.
